There are many ways to work with Your-Ghost-Writer. I enjoy working on book projects, which may have a 4- to 9-month time span. I also enjoy smaller projects that may only take a month or two.
Funding projects is another measurement. Some authors have set aside a budget for a long-term collaboration because they already know they'll need that kind of help. But you might only need several sessions, feedback, a quick revision, etc.
That's why I've created these and other coaching plans. Some writers only need an objective opinion, a brainstorm session or help structuring their novel, screenplay or nonfiction title. I'm available for those services. I also provide pre-paid blocks of time that may be used in a way you believe will help your project.
If you don't see a plan here that exactly suits your needs, please contact me so that we can tailor something that is supportive of your writing.
—Douglas Glenn Clark
ONE-ON-ONE BRAINSTORM and INSTRUCTION: You have an idea for a book, screenplay or story. And you've jotted notes, imagined scenes or chapters and yet you just can't figure out how to organize it.
Many writers feel the same way. Some of the most popular rely on editors and others to help them shape the arc of their books. I can do the same for you.
I'll guide you through the process of creating a game plan based on your idea that allows you to sit down and start writing with confidence. For fiction, nonfiction and screenplays.
You Get:
two 45-minute one-on-one phone sessions with your writing coach.
Instruction on plot and character development.
A one-sheet defining the main elements revealed in our talks.
You retain all rights to your ideas, of course. If you are writing a novel we won't necessarily define every beat. As you write, new ideas will emerge. But with a plan in hand, you'll stay on course!

PRO FEEDBACK and ANALYSIS: You have a manuscript, but you need objective insights and suggestions that will help you improve the next draft. That's normal.
Many successfull writers confess that their early drafts are a mess. But they don't worry. They get feedback so that the next draft is an improvement.
THIS PROCESS takes time. You don't want me to speed-read your good work. Yet you'll want a response that is timely and meaningful.
You Get:
A pre-read phone chat of 30 minutes to describe where you believe you need the most help.
For fiction, I'll read your manuscript (books of 25,000 to 60,000 words; screenplays 90 to 110 pages) and offer plot and character development feedback. For nonfiction, I'll address how you define your theme and lay out your ideas. Screenplays will be analyzed for structure and dramatic impact.
I will deliver a written overview, with suggestions.
A second 45-minute phone talk to discuss my analysis.
